Boats and safety
Peterborough Sailability has 7 Challenger-class trimarans, designed specially for safe disabled sailing.
You are welcome to come along and see what we do, or try your 
hand. Experienced sailors and helpers, under the direction of a Senior Instructor, will help you on and off the water.
You will embark on land before moving on to the water, where you will sail accompanied until you are proficient to sail solo. A hoist is available if you need to transfer from solid ground.
We provide all safety gear and protective clothing, including buoyancy aids.
In poor weather conditions, the final decision on sailing rests with the Senior Instructor. A safety boat manned by qualified crew is always on standby – to assist if difficulties arise, such as running aground or getting a rope tangled.
We do our utmost to cater for your individual needs – whatever your ability.
